The Desert Empire Filmmaker Foundation (DEFF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering filmmakers in the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley. We support local talent by providing funding, resources, equipment, and a platform for community connection.

Who can benefit from DEFF?

We primarily serve filmmakers, content creators, and visual storytellers who live, work, or were raised in the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley regions of California. Whether you’re a student, emerging filmmaker, or seasoned creative—if you’re telling stories that reflect our region, we’re here for you.

How do I become a member?

DEFF offers a single annual membership for $75. Members receive access to our filmmaker database, private Discord community, early announcements, and eligibility for select gear lending and member-only opportunities.

Yes! We accept:

  • Lighting/audio equipment

  • Editing software licenses

  • Studio or office space
